I’ve made a drastic effort to dive face first into one of the biggest choices of my life to date– I separated from the active military. It was a hard decision but in the end, I packed up my Kia Optima hybrid and my dog and drove the 17 hours from Las Vegas to Dallas.

Never been the type to shy away from new experiences–thus why this food blog was such an exciting undertaking.

In the spirit of the new and exciting, my first stop of my food journey was an eatery and beer garden called Sundown at Granada.

I’ve been to quite a few farm-to-table restaurants over the years, and overall this one was pretty decent. This is definitely a Vegan/Vegetarian friendly space, and for those looking for an ideal drank, the choice of cocktails and 60+ beers will keep you entertained.

Some of the items we tried on the menu I can’t say I’d order again, but the “keepers” were the loaded avocados, crispy crawfish rolls, and the flatbreads. The burgers (grass-fed beef) were ok.

The only major downside on our particular visit: the service was pretty horrible. Our server was very inattentive to the point where we actually had to go inside to get our check. Regardless of the bad service, I would definitely give this place a second go. Thought we visited during brunch, they feature live music in the evenings and it would be a great, laid back lace for a meet-up or cocktails.
